Our client’s company is a trusted provider of colocation and connectivity services with the best and most sustainable digital solutions. Their first location is Germany with 10 distributed Edge data centers, followed by other data centers in the Netherlands, UK, Belgium, Spain, France, Portugal, Ireland and Switzerland. They currently have over 30 Edge locations. The datacenters will also be integrated into a future-proof energy infrastructure, which will contribute to a reduction of CO2 emissions in the generation, heating and gas sectors through sector coupling. This will redefine the role of data centers in Europe as an innovative lever for coal reduction and a stabilizing part of the green energy infrastructure from the ground up.
We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Senior Manager who will oversee the business model with Design&Construction and site teams, and who will train and support them in the transition from a building under construction to a live Datacenter. In addition, he/she will develop EMEA Operations Standards and SME Support for local site teams in complex maintenance activities and will assist with customer-related technical questions and support site teams on technical topics.
Function
Data Center Design Support
- Support the Construction design team on operational requirements or improvements
- Advise the local Operations team on the operational impact of changes and specifications, specifically related to customer change requests
Sales & Customer Fit-Out
- Represent EMEA Operations to the Customer, SE & Sales teams.
- Be the SME Escalation contact in case of major Infrastructure Incidents
- Work on customer RFIRFP and contractual documents for customers and provide technical guidance to the team
- Coordinate with local operations team and EMEA Operations on specifications and approvals.
- Develop EMEA wide customer fit out stands and implement them in every country
Support Construction of Data Center & hand-off to OPS
- Ensure global consistency in how Operations collaborates with D&C on data center deliveries
- Bied specific product support for customers
- Be an SME for a Territory/Country IBX Team
Operational Standards
- Develop/Maintain/Optimize EMEA Operational Standards, Policies, and Procedures
- Identify and implement tools to automate these standards to improve quality and customer service
System Support
- Develops knowledge of and learns enterprise systems (e.g. Itop, BMS) within the company to assist the site team in ensuring required assets are captured and allocated correctly between systems.
Product Support
- Supports the product team with new customer requirements to customize existing products or define a new product
- Supports the site teams with technical specifications of the individual products
Documentation
- Helps capture technical variances by country or region due to country governance or legislation, then helps inform the rest of the Operational stakeholders about what these variances are and when they should be considered in relation to customer contracts
Training
- Supports cross-functional projects to capture technical differences between EMEA locations
- Develop training standards based on local skills requirements
- Briefing Sites on available trackers and how to use them to their advantage
Job Requirements
- Electrical Engineering, Engineering power background (certified Engineer preferred), including LV and MV Systems
- Relevant management experience within Critical Infrastructure, preferably in data centers
- Strong customer-oriented skills, with the ability to handle challenging situations with customers
- Ability to explain complex technical situations in simple terms, even to non-technical persons
- Experience working in cross-functional groups
- Fluent English (oral and written) is required. Fluent Dutch, German or other European languages is a plus.
