We are looking for an Automation & Systems (Application) Engineer to join the Operations Technician Delivery team in the Netherlands. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement automation solutions for small to midsize projects. You will work closely with clients, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and continuously improve processes to ensure efficient and high-quality project delivery.
This position is ideal for professionals with a solid technical foundation and growing expertise in business processes. You’ll contribute to larger projects or independently manage smaller ones, balancing technical know-how with collaboration skills. The role also offers opportunities to mentor junior engineers and take on more responsibility in project planning and execution.
Responsibilities
Client Engagement

Support the sales team with demos, advice, and estimations to prepare strong quotations.

Understand client requirements and ensure solutions meet operational needs.

Act as a technical lead on small to medium projects, representing the team in client interactions.
Solution Design & Development

Prepare functional and technical design specifications.

Configure and customize solutions according to agreed designs.

Develop interfaces with software and hardware for seamless integration.

Provide training and documentation for client teams.

Review work from junior team members and ensure delivery quality.
Collaboration

Work closely with colleagues across departments to achieve project goals.

Share knowledge and contribute to team problem-solving.

Communicate clearly with stakeholders and project managers.

Mentor junior engineers and support their development.

Specialization – DCIM (Datacenter Infrastructure Management)
Depending on background, focus may include:

SCADA software products.

Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, VB.NET, C#.NET, or C++.

Datacenter infrastructure and electrical systems (BMS, EPMS, HVAC, power distribution, environmental monitoring).
Job requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Valid VCA-VOL certificate.

Industry experience in areas such as MES, LIMS, SCADA, PLC, APS, DCIM, or CS.

Strong engineering skills with the ability to design and implement innovative solutions.

Experience translating customer requirements into effective technical solutions.

Proficiency in programming/scripting languages and databases.

Strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills.

Fluent in English and preferably Dutch.
