Our client’s company operates in the data center industry, providing a range of services across the Nordics region, particularly in the construction and management of data centers. They specialize in delivering tailored solutions, including infrastructure development, engineering, and operational support, to meet the growing demands of the data center market in Northern Europe.
We are looking for a full-time, experienced Physical Security Designer for one of their group companies, which specializes in developing a new product—an innovative security system for data centers. This role is based in Stockholm, Sweden.
This individual will be responsible for designing and developing integrated physical security systems for hyperscale and colocation data centers across Northern Europe.
You will collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and technical teams to ensure that all security system designs meet operational, compliance, and client requirements. This position combines technical expertise with creativity and precision in developing future-ready security infrastructures.
Responsibilities

Design and engineer comprehensive physical security systems, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and monitoring systems for datacenter environments.

Translate project requirements into detailed design documentation, schematics, and system specifications.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams—architecture, MEP, IT, and construction—to integrate security systems seamlessly into facility designs.

Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to evaluate solutions and ensure alignment with project standards and client expectations.

Support project managers in scheduling, budgeting, and reviewing project milestones.

Conduct site assessments and ensure system compliance with local and international standards.

Stay informed on emerging security technologies and trends to continuously improve design quality and system reliability.
Job requirements
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following fields (or equivalent experience): Electrical Engineering, Security Technology, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering Technology with a focus on Security Systems

Proven experience designing physical security systems for datacenters, critical facilities or complex infrastructure projects.

Strong technical understanding of access control, video surveillance, biometrics, and integrated security platforms.

Familiarity with one or more of the following: Milestone, Lenel, Axis, Bosch, Dormakaba, Morpho, Biometric Systems, Lidar, AI-based surveillance, Drone

Experience working with design and documentation tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Visio, or similar).

Excellent communication and coordination skills, able to collaborate with technical experts and non-technical stakeholders.

Fluent in English; Swedish is an advantage.
