To further strengthen their leadership in the market, they are seeking an experienced Senior Commissioning Manager to lead the company’s commissioning strategy and oversee multiple large-scale projects across the region.
Function
The Senior Commissioning Manager will take overall responsibility for defining, implementing, and managing the company’s commissioning strategy across multiple data center projects. This role combines deep technical knowledge with strong business acumen to ensure efficient execution, financial control, and client satisfaction throughout the commissioning lifecycle.
Working closely with senior leadership, this person will set the direction for commissioning operations, manage budgets and resources, and ensure alignment with the company’s long-term objectives and growth strategy.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Commissioning Management

Define and lead the company’s overall commissioning strategy, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and quality across all projects.

Develop and implement standardized commissioning procedures and methodologies to ensure predictable project outcomes.

Oversee all commissioning phases (Level 3-5) across multiple data center sites, ensuring systems perform according to design intent and client expectations.

Lead cross-functional coordination between design, construction, and operations teams to ensure seamless handovers and optimized delivery schedules.
Team Leadership & Development

Build, manage, and mentor a team of commissioning managers and engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.

Promote knowledge sharing, lessons learned, and continuous improvement within the commissioning organization.
Business & Financial Management

Oversee the financial performance of the commissioning division, including project budgets, forecasting, and cost control.

Contribute to strategic planning and business development by providing input on project feasibility, resource planning, and operational scalability.

Manage vendor relationships and service contracts to ensure cost-effective, high-quality delivery.

Support commercial teams during bid and proposal stages with commissioning scope definition, risk assessment, and pricing strategy.
Stakeholder & Client Management

Serve as the primary point of contact for commissioning-related matters with clients, stakeholders, and senior management.

Provide regular updates on project progress, budgets, and risks, maintaining transparency and trust.

Ensure compliance with all safety standards, local regulations, and company quality frameworks.
Job requirements

Proven experience leading commissioning operations across multiple data center or mission-critical infrastructure projects.

Strong business acumen with experience managing budgets, financial performance, and strategic planning.

In-depth understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems (MEP).

Track record in defining and implementing company-level commissioning standards and procedures.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and commercial teams.

Strong leadership experience in managing and developing multidisciplinary teams.

Familiarity with commissioning best practices, safety protocols, and relevant industry standards.

Willingness to travel regularly across Northern Europe.
