Role description
We are looking for an experienced, innovative, and resourceful Senior Design Manager to join our team in their office in Oslo, Norway. This is a full-time position.
Main responsibilities
- Lead and manage the design development process for data center projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure cohesive design solutions.
- Ensure compliance with Nordic/European building codes, industry regulations, and sustainability practices.
- Oversee the preparation and review of architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Drive design optimization to enhance efficiency, scalability, and operational performance.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to meet design objectives.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to incorporate client requirements into design solutions.
- Conduct design reviews and risk assessments to mitigate potential issues early in the process.
- Stay up to date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in data center design.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the design team.
Profile
Qualifications:
- Data center experience required.
- Senior – Minimum 8 years with 2+ years of work experience with data centers is a must.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree study in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in design management, preferably within the data center, industrial, or commercial construction sectors.
- Strong knowledge of architectural, structural, and MEP systems in data center environments.
- Familiarity with Nordic/European building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership capabilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-tech environment with tight deadlines.
- English Proficiency is mandatory both written and oral.
We are looking for someone who:
- Strong background of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
- Experience working in mission-critical facilities, such as data centers, hospitals, or energy infrastructure.
- Knowledge of sustainability and energy-efficient solutions in data center design.
- Ability to effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
- Excellent teamwork skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
- Great organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and high-quality standards.
- Knowledge and experience to work with the Data centers international standards, like ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, TIA, EN50600.
