We are currently looking for an experienced Senior MEP Estimator with a strong background in developing detailed cost estimates for large-scale construction and data center projects, skilled in evaluating mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems from concept through tender submission, ensuring precision, competitiveness and compliance with project specifications. This individual combines deep technical expertise in MEP systems with strong commercial acumen and analytical ability to deliver accurate and value-driven proposals.
Responsibilities
• Lead the preparation of comprehensive cost estimates for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC, piping, fire protection, and power distribution.
• Review and interpret tender documents, blueprints, and specifications to determine project scope, technical requirements, and estimation parameters.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs and develop accurate pricing for materials, equipment, subcontractors, and labor.
• Collaborate closely with design teams, project managers, and suppliers to ensure cost alignment and technical accuracy.
• Manage value engineering initiatives by identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or compliance.
• Prepare bid documents, pricing schedules, and technical clarifications for submission to clients.
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitiveness and adherence to specifications.
• Support bid strategy meetings and provide input to senior management on pricing risks, contingencies, and market trends.
• Maintain and update cost databases, unit rates, and benchmarking data for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Conduct post-tender reviews to analyze estimating performance and improve future bidding accuracy.
• Oversee and mentor junior estimators, ensuring consistent quality and methodology across all MEP disciplines.
Job requirements
• Proven experience in MEP estimation across data centers, commercial, and industrial sectors.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, and plumbing systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Additional certification in Estimating or Quantity Surveying is preferred.
• 7–10 years of experience in MEP estimating, including large-scale or mission-critical projects (e.g., data centers, hospitals, or industrial facilities).
• Proficient in CostX, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, tendering procedures, and procurement processes.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement ability.
