Our client’s company is operating in the data center industry, providing a range of services in the Nordics region, particularly related to the construction and management of data centers. They focus on delivering specialized solutions, including infrastructure development, engineering, and operational support, tailored to meet the demands of the rapidly growing data center market in Northern Europe.
The company’s headquarters are based in Oslo, Norway, and it has been involved in multiple projects throughout the region, contributing to the development of critical infrastructure in the tech and data sectors.
As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and optimization of all operational processes within the data center. This includes general project planning, capacity management, resource allocation, and liaising with other departments such as procurement and engineering. Over the next few years, a data center will be built there for a very special brand. The primary focus of this project is to assemble a diverse team of engineers with diverse backgrounds, with the ultimate goal of designing, realizing, and operationalizing a functional data center.
Responsibilities
– Develop and maintain detailed operational and project plans
– Analyze capacity needs and optimize resource allocation
– Coordinate maintenance and upgrade activities to minimize downtime
– Support the budgeting process and monitor budget versus actual costs
– Collaborate with various internal teams and external vendors for seamless operations
– Risk management, including identifying and mitigating potential schedule bottlenecks
– Reporting KPIs and other critical operational metrics to management
– Supervise and train junior planners and other team members
Job requirements
– At least 5 years of experience in planning or operations management, preferably in the data center industry
– Experience with project management software such as MS Project, BIM or equivalent tools
– Excellent time management and organization skills
– Analytical skills
– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
– Leadership and mentoring skills
– Structured
– Team player but also able to work independently
– Flexibility and adaptability in a rapidly changing environment
