The company has been active since 1951 and customers have been using their data storage services since the 80s. The company is operational in 54 countries worldwide and has recently been established in a large data center in the Haarlem region. This data center has 15MW of capacity and over 10,000 square meters of white space in its current form, but with an eye to the future there is the possibility to grow to a 60MW facility with 40,000 square meters of floor space.

Function

As a Data Center Facility Engineer you have the following responsibilities:

 

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance rounds;

Physical monitoring of equipment, conditions and technical performance;

Monitor and respond to warnings, alarms and emergencies;

Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical equipment and control systems;

Willing to work in shifts;

Quickly resolve issues or delegate to a supplier;

Attend training to meet quality requirements;

Perform daily inspections of critical infrastructure, including data collection and evaluation;

Build, test, install power circuits and cables to computer rooms;

Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on chillers, pumps and cooling towers;

Supervise external suppliers to ensure that regulations and operational procedures are followed;

Be able to follow rules and procedures accurately.

Job requirements

The Datacenter Facility Engineer has a lot of responsibility and must be able to solve problems independently. That is why we are looking for a professional who can meet the following job requirements:

At least a completed MBO education in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering;

Demonstrable work experience as a maintenance technician, facility manager or service engineer;

Good command of the Dutch and English language, both spoken and written;

Service and solution-oriented;

In possession of a valid driver’s license;

Able to work independently and are proactive and accurate;

Able to document work well and accurately;

Knowledge of test equipment: multimeter, IR meter, data cable tester and power analyzer;

A team player;

Continuously focused on making improvements to the quality of installations and service;

Follow rules and procedures accurately.
