Main Purpose of Job:
The main purpose of the role is to ensure the client’s standards, specifications and technical guidance is maintained and adhered to during the execution and turn-up of critical networks infrastructure on Data Centre (DC) builds. You will be the primary liaison between the client’s DC team to ensure co-ordination of their requirements with the Project / Construction team(s). You will be the construction-facing representative on all aspects of the Telecoms package and Network infrastructure turn-up.
Responsible to:
Reporting into the Director of Engineering and the client’s Global / Regional DC Network Infra Lead, this role is critical to the project and organisation’s success in transitioning DC builds from construction into operational assets.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for:
- Maintain resource availability and productivity data to drive forecasting and budgeting
- Establishing and maintaining cost metric norms/data by site/region; develop program cost templates for use by site teams/contractor
- Technical assistance to partner teams, escalation POC for fleet
- DC Network Infra design team engagement (e.g. design participation constructability reviews, lessons learned)
Work Environment:
- Predominantly site-based at active data centre locations.
- Working in secure, high-availability environments with strict access and operational controls.
Main Responsibilities
Procurement & Training:
- Contractor project orientation, onboarding and training.
- Validate long lead equipment & telecom procurement schedules to meet construction
- Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) v Contractor Furnished Contractor Installed (CFCI) Strategy
- Establish reporting requirements & cadence
- Distribute partner teams splice / build path records and set expectations for structured fibre delivery (install, splice, test & upload results)
- Upload folder structure and submittals, fibre acceptance sheet, test results, as-builts
- Network turn-up strategy alignment (information flow, partner team engagement, execution requirements and timeline)
- Distributing & Training on the bundle fibre scopes and OFCI materials
- Support onboarding of contractors through the client’s enrolment systems
- Construction quality reviews via weekly site walks
- Schedule detail requirements Priority vs Non-priority fibre – sequence and need by dates
- CLSD checklist Network Infrastructure requirements and scope alignment
- Systems, software and tooling training
Quality Assurance:
- Perform weekly site walks with Construction team(s)
- Construction progress reviews via weekly (at minimum) site walks
- Construction quality reviews via weekly site walks
- Facilitate weekly DC handover walks with service owner as needed to sign off benchmarks
- Perform field safety walks and input client systems with observations.
- Ensure EH&S compliance
- Implement DC Network Infra QA/QC checklist
- Quality documentation and Inspection & test plan review
Execution:
- Ensure Telecoms package schedules are encompassing of all scope with priority cables and CLSD Checklist items incorporated.
- Thorough understanding of progress and ability to produce reports when required.
- Understanding and implementing changes to scope (Machine Learning Deployments etc).
- Risk and Issue Management pertaining to schedule and quality.
- Quick resolution and downstream management
- Effective escalation
- Transparent, relevant and timely reporting on impacts to all partner teams key stakeholders.
Cluster Turn-Up:
- Collate and provide installer with all cable / patching schedules, installation guidelines, training and hardware.
- Ensure all cross-functional partner teams are aligned on schedule and sequencing to achieve Turn-Up need by dates
- Ensure all materials are called off using from the client’s system(s)
- Co-ordinate sign off of installation and porting with the client’s partner team(s)
- Join Turn-up focused meeting and present progress status
- Resolve inflight issues with the client’s partner teams and project team(s)
- Co-ordinate between the client’s logistics and installer the deliveries of OFCI fibre bundles, racks, optics, patch panels
Meeting Attendance:
- Weekly Construction progress meeting
- Weekly telecoms construction progress meeting
- Weekly internal turn-up meetings
- Weekly CLSD checklist meetings
- Attendance of one-off meetings for larger issues that may require a deep dive
- Weekly or as needed review of RFI’s and submittals with GC and AE
- Ad-hoc meetings and calls with partner teams to understand requirements, resolve issues and co-ordination.
Standardisation & Continual Improvement:
- Feedback issues to design team and other sites and regions
- Ensure standardisation wherever possible with other regions
Tools and systems (to learn):
- DC-Viz – Cable routes and rack layouts
- G-Tide / SAP – Calling off and managing owner furnished materials, bundled fibre, optics, air flow items
- IMS – Project milestone and scheduling
- BIM – Building information & modelling
- Fluxx – Execution system for long-running workflows
- Buganizer – Internal tool for tracking issues
- Talos / Viewpoint – JIT fibre info and need by dates
- AO DOC’s – Information repository

Job requirements
- 10+ years telecoms experience
- 5+ years focused Data Centre construction / fit-out experience
- Developer and/or end-user experience
- OFCI vs CFCI, structured fibre, QA/QC
- Fluent English (Dutch/French/Spanish/Danish bonus)
- Mobility across EU
