Function
The Design Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of design for data center projects, from concept and feasibility through detailed design, construction support, and close-out. The role involves leading multidisciplinary teams and external partners to ensure that client requirements, operational needs, and sustainability objectives are fully integrated. The Design Manager also provides on-site leadership to ensure design intent is implemented correctly and manages design budgets and resources.
Job Requirements
– Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent
– Chartered Engineer status (desirable)
– Expertise in power, cooling, IT infrastructure, security, civil/structural systems
– Proficiency in BIM tools, Revit, MS Project, and document management
– Understanding of codes, regulations, and HSE standards
– Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams
– Experience in complex data center or critical facility projects
– Coordination with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
– QA/QC and construction handover experience
– Supporting commissioning and as-built documentation
