We are looking for a Senior Commissioning Engineer to take the lead on commissioning complex MEP systems, with a strong emphasis on electrical systems performance, reliability, and compliance.

Role Overview

The Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer plays a key role in ensuring all electrical systems within data centers, such as HV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, switchgear, and PDUs, operate according to design, safety, and performance requirements.

Working closely with the MEP, construction, and operations teams, you will plan, execute, and document commissioning activities across all project stages (Levels 3-5). You will also coordinate with mechanical and control engineers to deliver fully integrated, validated systems ready for client handover.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the commissioning of electrical systems and support MEP integration for new and upgraded data centers.

  • Develop and execute commissioning plans, MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs in line with design and client specifications.

  • Conduct and oversee Load Bank, System Integration, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).

  • Verify system functionality of UPS, generators, transformers, PDUs, and switchgear.

  • Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues during commissioning and testing.

  • Collaborate with mechanical and control engineers to ensure seamless MEP system functionality.

  • Maintain detailed commissioning documentation, including reports, issue logs, and test results.

  • Ensure full compliance with safety protocols, industry standards, and local regulations.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior commissioning personnel.

  • Participate in lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize commissioning practices.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical commissioning or testing within data centers or other mission-critical facilities.
  • Deep knowledge of HV/LV systems, UPS, generator systems, switchgear, and power distribution networks.
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems and their integration with electrical systems (chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, BMS).
  • Strong understanding of MEP coordination, integrated testing, and control system interfaces.
  • Experience with commissioning standards (Level 3-5), testing protocols, and safety procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of IEC, EN, and NFPA electrical standards.
