SCC is a safety, health and environment management system for contractors. Where a client requires it of contractors and staffing providers, the people working on that project need a personal SCC certificate based on a passed SGU examination. Whether it applies to you depends on the client and project.

An Elektrofachkraft für festgelegte Tätigkeiten is a person trained to carry out specific, defined electrical tasks, such as like for like replacements, without being a fully qualified electrician. The status covers only the tasks named by the employer, so it does not replace full Elektrofachkraft status for wider electrical work.

DGUV Vorschrift 3, often shortened to DGUV V3, is the German accident prevention regulation for electrical installations and equipment. It sets out who may install, change, maintain and test electrical systems. Compliance sits with the employer and the site, so your electrical qualifications get examined closely before you start.

DGUV V3 tests must be carried out by an Elektrofachkraft, or by an electrically instructed person working under the direction and supervision of an Elektrofachkraft with suitable measuring equipment. For many technical and trade roles, employers assess the competence needed for the specific work rather than requiring a formal equivalence decision. Where recognition is needed it takes time and costs money, so it is worth starting early.
