For our data centers, we are looking for Facility Engineers who ensure that you and I can enjoy the best series, the most exciting sports matches and the latest music via live streaming without any interruptions. But also that you can email or share your holiday photos via social media. As a Site Engineer, you have a lot of responsibility: without your contribution, streaming your favorite sports matches is no longer guaranteed. Are we exaggerating? Certainly not! Every app you open, every top 40 hit you listen to and every series or sports match you watch via a live stream, it is all processed in a data center.
Function
Do you want to work as an Engineer at the heart of the internet? The Technical Operations Engineer (TOE) is responsible as a Data Center Engineer for the proper functioning of the facility technology within the Data Center infrastructure. This is done by performing regular inspections, responding to facility alarms, providing preventive and corrective maintenance and installation support. As a well-trained technician, you also supervise suppliers who perform maintenance and repairs. The TOE contributes to the daily operation of the data center location, including the creation and modification of operational procedures. You create change management tickets, provide input for timely incident reporting, site maintenance and repairs / inspections to ensure the highest level of availability (uptime) in the data center. All in accordance with the relevant quality standards and in compliance with legislation and regulations, in particular with regard to Security and Health & Safety.
Job requirements
• Minimum MBO level 3; graduated in a technical field;
• 2-5 years of experience as an engineer with a Telco, IT or DC background;
• Expert knowledge of the NEN 1010 standards and NEN 3140 and 3840 certification is a plus;
• Good administrative skills in Microsoft Office. Service Now experience is preferred;
• Insight into critical infrastructure, for example: fire extinguishing system, UPS, cooling systems and architectures; • Teamworker, analytical and technical skills, detail-oriented;
• Able to work adequately and safely;
• Eye for quality; strive for 100% accuracy, customer-oriented;
• Shows commitment and strives for excellent service;
• Proactive, problem-solving, commitment & drive, self-starter;
• Can easily adapt to a changing environment and is open to new ideas;
• Knowledge of data center software systems, such as BMS, CMMS, DCIM, etc.;
• VCA VOL., BHV. & CDCP is preferred;
• Good communication skills in Dutch and English;
• Having a valid driving license (category B) is required.
