Role description
We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in datacenter infrastructure to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mechanical systems and components within the data centers. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation and reliability of DC facilities.
Main responsibilities
- Check that the design is according to specification and contract.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Work with the other design and engineering professionals on concepts.
- Manage a portfolio of data center designs.
- Lead initiatives aimed at improving cost, quality, schedule, and consistency.
- Should be capable of writing technical specifications and reports.
- Should be capable of producing a system design from scratch based on technical starting points/specifications.
- Support to BID process.
Profile
Qualifications:
- Data center experience required.
- Experience in industrial facilities and/or experience in design of mission critical facilities.
- Senior – Minimum 8 years with 2+ years of work experience with data centers is a must.
- Relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree study in Mechanical Engineering.
- English Proficiency is mandatory both written and oral.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and high-quality standards.
We are looking for someone who:
- Ability to effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
- Extensive knowledge of multiple cooling strategies and operations.
- Extensive knowledge of air handling and air treatment installations and technologies.
- Good understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems supporting mission critical systems, like but not limited to water treatment.
- Proper understanding of electrical installations and the impact/relation to the mechanical systems.
- Proper understanding of fire safety systems and the impact/relation to the mechanical systems and building layout.
- Proper understanding of impact of mechanical systems to the acoustic impact on the environment, the 3d implementation on the building and room layout, the structural impact for various technologies
- Excellent teamwork skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
- Great organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and high-quality standards.
- Knowledge and experience to work with the Data centers international standards, like ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, TIA, EN50600.
